On 2 December 2024, we will modify the EuroEkspres and international transfer forms. We will implement the structured counterparty address by adding new address fields:
- street,
- building no.,
- suite no.,
- postal code,
- city (mandatory),
- country (mandatory).
We will also make it possible to:
- add additional address details of the counterparty, e.g. city district or building name,
- provide the purpose of the transaction, additional instructions, and additional identification data of the counterparty.
Reason for the changes
The changes stem from the introduction of ISO 20022, an international, uniform electronic communication standard for financial systems. Information exchange is based on XML files with a clearly defined data structure.
Before we fully transition to the new communication standard, we will give you some time to adapt. Until November 2026, you will be able to use both the structured and the unstructured address (thanks to the option ‘Switch address field’).
To facilitate the transition to the new form, we will make it possible to import transfers in the new XML (ISO 20022) PAIN.001.001.09 version. We will upload information about the new structure at: https://www.mbank.pl/msp-korporacje/bankowosc-elektroniczna/pytania-i-odpowiedzi/struktury-plikow-wymiany-danych/
Schedule of the changes
We encourage you to implement relevant changes in your ERP systems and to send transfers using the new version of the counterparty address as quickly as possible.
As required by SWIFT, in November 2026 we will remove the unstructured address from the international transfer and EuroEkspres transfer forms.
From December 2024, we will not issue confirmations for executed foreign payments in the form of SWIFT MT103 messages. Confirmations currently available in mBank CompanyNet contain a unique payment ID called UETR (Unique End-to-End Transaction Reference), which allows you to track your payments along the entire payment chain.
